🏙️ Step 1: Select the Street
Identify the street to which the new property will be linked.
Double-click the street record so it is centered in the GGP map window.
💡 Tip:
Always select the street to which the new BLPU and LPI should be assigned, not an existing property nearby.
For example, if a new development is being added, the street may run along the other edge of the land. Ensure you click the correct street to maintain correct numbering.
In the example below, we wish to attach a new property to the Close (to the West), not the street of the existing building it is in the grounds of (which is to the South)
🏷️ Step 2: Switch to the Property Tab
The Property tab displays all existing properties for the selected street.
🖊️ Step 3: Add a Symbol
Click the Add Symbol button in the NLPG Editor.
If using polygons instead of point symbols, see Creating a Property with a Polygon.
📍 Step 4: Place the Symbol on the Map
Follow the Editor status bar prompt to click or snap the symbol at the required location.
In the GIS window:
Left-click to place the symbol manually.
Right-click to access the menu and snap the symbol to an existing feature.
The symbol’s appearance depends on your default point settings.
✅ Step 5: Save the Symbol
Click the green tick on the GGP toolbar to save the graphic.
A new GGP data record window will appear corresponding to the symbol.
No data entry is required at this stage — click the green tick to save and choose Yes on the confirmation pop-up.
🗂️ Step 6: Enter BLPU Details
The next step is to fill in the BLPU details window for the Gazetteer.
