Using Maps for Spatial Records - Spatial Searches

👥 Use a Spatial Search to View Multiple Records

Sometimes multiple records may exist at the same location—for example:

• A block of flats, with each flat recorded individually but positioned at the same point for the building.

• Properties recorded very close together.

In these cases, you can use GIS spatial search functions to identify and view the records.

🖼️ How to Perform a Spatial Search

1. Ensure the BLPU overlay is in the foreground.

2. From the menu, select Search → Draw Circle.

3. Draw a circle around the symbol(s) in question.

📑 Viewing the Results

1. Select Search → Run Query to return the records within the circle.

2. Open Search → View Table to see all BLPU records found in your search area.

   

3. Double-click a record in the table to display it in the record grid in BW.

4. From the View Table window:

   • Highlight a record and click Centre to move the map view to that record.

   • Right-click the record on the map to open its details in the NLPG editor window.
