Introduction – Navigation in NGz

GGP GIS and NGz run together to provide a fully integrated editing environment.

When NGz is launched, two editor windows appear alongside the GGP map window:

• 📊 Bottom Window (BW) – lower part of the screen

• 📋 Right-Hand Window (RHW) – right-hand side of the screen

These two NGz editor windows are central to navigation and data management.

📊 The Bottom Window (BW)

The BW contains a series of tabs, which vary depending on the process being performed.

Commonly used tabs include:

• Streets tab – core street records

• Properties tab – available when properties are linked to the highlighted street

• ESUs tab – displays constituent street elements (enabled for Level 2 or 3 streets)

👉 When on the Properties tab, additional tabs may appear in the RHW (see below).

📋 The Right-Hand Window (RHW)

The RHW displays information based on the tab selected in the BW.

• On the Properties tab, the LPI (Land and Property Identifier) tab appears for each property.

• If the property has associated child properties, Level tabs (e.g. Children) will be shown, containing information about those linked records.

🪟 NGz Window Management

• If window positions change (e.g. resizing the map window to view a street), use:
  Window | Arrange All – this repositions both the BW and RHW to their standard layout.

  

• NGz is designed to use the entire screen for maximum readability.

  • If either the BW or RHW does not display correctly, it may be due to screen resolution settings.

  • Adjust your display settings via Control Panel to restore proper layout.

✅ Tip: Use the Arrange All option whenever window layouts become difficult to manage.
