This article explains how to set up GGP network clients quickly and easily, after you’ve installed GGP on a shared network directory and configured a default client workstation.
💡 GGP is designed for a corporate network environment. Once the shared setup and default client are ready, new workstations can be configured in a few simple steps.
🧰 Pre-Requisites
Before configuring client PCs:
✅ GGP must be installed on a network server
✅ One workstation must be fully set up as the Default Client

🖥️ How to Set Up a PC as a GGP Client
To configure a workstation:
Start the GGP Applications Launcher
Log in as an administrator
Click [Users] to open User Control
Select Tools > Create/Update GGP User/Wkstn
(or click the corresponding toolbar button)
After running this, a report will be displayed showing completed steps.

⚠️ Overwriting Warnings: If files or settings already exist, you’ll be prompted to overwrite them. Overwriting an overlay table deletes existing overlay entries.
🗂️ Local vs. Network Home Directories
Local HomeDir (e.g.
C:\GGPWIN):
Run Create/Update GGP User/Wkstn on each PC.Network HomeDir (UNC Path):
Run once for each user, from a single PC:Log into Windows as the user
Start User Control
Run Create/Update GGP User/Wkstn
Repeat for all users
Then visit each PC to:
Set up
GGP.INIUpdate Borland settings (if needed)
✅ Testing a Workstation Installation
🔓 Start & Login
Launch GGP Applications
Enter username/password
GGP Applications Launcher will appear
🗺️ Test Standard View
Click [GGP]
Go to:
File > New Script > Standard ViewMap should appear
File > Close
📍 Test Street Gazetteer (if installed)
File > New Script > OS Street GazetteerEnter a known street address, click [Search]
Check Display Overlay and In Foreground
Click **[View Map]` → map viewport should appear
Search > Report→ Report Generator should showOSGAZETTfieldsClose everything
🏡 Test Address Point (if installed)
File > New Script > Address PointEnter address in Thorofare field
Click [Search], then **[View Map]`
Map viewport should display
