If you selected Preview from the print dialog, the on-screen map preview will now appear. This preview allows you to review your output before sending it to the printer.
🔍 What’s Included in the Preview
The on-screen preview shows:
The map area you've selected
All template elements (e.g. north point, grid, scale bar)
Any titles or notes entered
OS copyright acknowledgements, if selected
✅ Printing from the Preview
If you're satisfied with the layout:
Click Print from the Page Preview menu.
The standard Windows print dialog will appear, where you can:
Choose the printer (again, if needed)
Set the number of copies
Adjust properties, or
Cancel the print
⚠️ While you can change printer setup here, it’s strongly recommended to configure printer settings before selecting the print template. This ensures proper alignment between printer and template.
💾 Saving or Sharing the Preview
If you'd like to keep a copy of the preview:
Go to Save As button from the Page Preview menu
Save the file as a metafile or in a common image format
This preview step ensures that your map output appears exactly as intended — before using any paper.
