Printing In GGP – Selecting the Printer

This article walks you through the first step of printing in GGP: choosing the correct printer or plotter setup.

🧾 What the System Needs to Know

Before printing, GGP (like any Windows application) needs to know:

• ✅ Which printer or plotter to use

• ✅ Paper size, orientation, and source

• ✅ Resolution and print quality

GGP prints to any standard Windows-configured printer.
If you're using a plotter (for large-format or roll paper), ensure it's correctly installed and set up in Windows first.

🗂️ Best Practice: Recommended Print Setup Sequence

Although you can change some settings later, it’s good practice to follow this recommended order:

1. Select the printer, paper size, paper source, and print quality

2. Choose the print template in GGP (defines layout, orientation, and map components)

3. Apply any specific print settings (scale, labels, extras)

For example, before starting:
Decide on your print goal – e.g. A4 portrait at scale 1:2500.
