This article covers how to choose and manage print templates in GGP. Users can select listed or browse for additional templates, view details, or edit them in Fast Reports. It also highlights the importance of checking printer settings to match the selected template.
▶️ Starting the Print Process
To begin:
Click the Print button on the toolbar
— or —Select File > Print from the menu.
This opens the Print dialog form, where you will continue the setup process.
The selected printer will be displayed at the bottom of this form.
📄 Stage 2: Choose a Print Template
🖨️ When printing within GGP, the Print Templates section (left-hand side of the window) displays:
A list of templates associated with the currently loaded script
A list of recently used templates
🗂️ Browsing Templates
Click [Browse More...] to open a file explorer
Manually select the
.fr3template file from your file system
Templates may be organized by department or purpose, and stored in specific GGP directories (e.g., departmental or corporate services).
📌 Interface Tip:
The appearance of this window depends on your Windows folder view settings.
✅ Selecting the Template
Highlight the desired template.
Click OK to confirm your selection.
ℹ️ Template Details
To view more information about the selected template:
Click [Properties...]
This will show the template source path and additional metadata
✏️ Editing Templates
If you need to edit a template before printing:
Click [Edit...]
The template will open in Fast Reports editor
🖨️ Current Printer Settings
At the bottom of the print window, you will see:
Current Printer
Paper Size
Orientation
🔧 These are based on your default printer settings.
To update your default printer, go to:
File > Printer Setup
⚠️ Important Note
When switching between templates in the print dialog:
✅ Always check that the printer's paper size and orientation match the template requirements.
Failure to do so may result in formatting or scaling issues during printing.
