This article explains how to view and edit overlay data records and change the graphical appearance of objects in GGP.
✏️ Changing the Content of a Database Record

View Overlay Data:
Point the cursor at an object on a selected overlay.
Right-click to open the data form for that record.

Edit Data:
To edit, you must have edit permissions and the overlay must be set as the foreground overlay.
Click into any text box to modify or add data.
The Save button will become enabled when editing begins.

Access Restrictions:
If you do not have the required permissions, the Save button will be greyed out—you can view but not edit the data.
🖌️ Changing the Appearance of Graphic Objects
By default, graphics are created with preset attributes. You can change these attributes anytime:
Steps to Edit Graphic Attributes:
Click the Edit Attributes button, or select:
Edit > Foreground Overlay > Edit Attributesfrom the menu.-
Click on the graphic object you want to edit.
If you click empty space or miss the object, an alert will say:
“Nothing Found to Edit.”If the object is selected, a pop-up form will show the related record information.
Click the Edit Attributes button on the pop-up to open the attributes dialogue.
Example: Editing Polygon Attributes
The attributes dialog varies by object type. For polygons, it includes:

Top Half: Boundary Line Attributes
Change line style, line width, or boundary color (independent from fill color).

Bottom Half: Area Fill Attributes
Choose a fill pattern, solid fill, or outline only.
Change the fill color.
Saving Attribute Settings
Make Session Default:
Keeps your attribute choices for the current login session.Save Settings:
Saves attribute preferences permanently with the overlay until changed again.
Additional Attribute Options
You can select further details for:
Symbol attributes
Polyline/Polygon attributes
Text attributes
✅ Finishing Up
Click OK to save the new attributes.
GGP remains in Edit mode allowing you to update more objects in the current foreground overlay.
When finished, click Abort to exit the Edit operation.
