This article describes the initial view of the GGP software and introduces some basic concepts.
1. πͺ Initial View
When you launch GGP:
The application window opens, but no map is displayed yet.
This is normal β youβll load or create map content in later steps.
2. π§° Menu and Toolbar
Top Menus:
Located at the top of the screen, these menus provide access to all the main functions in GGP.Toolbar Buttons:
Found just below the menus, these offer quick access to frequently used tools and actions.
3. π±οΈ Right Mouse Button
The right-click menu is context-sensitive.
It provides additional options based on the specific function or tool you're using.
4. ποΈ Layers (Overlays)
Overlays are map layers where data is stored for specific uses (e.g., planning applications, property records).
If no overlays are selected, GGP will use the default scratch layer called Standard Graphics.
5. π Scripts
A script is a saved setup of overlays, files, and map views β like a session snapshot.
If you havenβt saved a script yet, GGP will generate a draft with a name like NewMap01.
6. πΊοΈ Displaying Maps
Map display functionality will be covered in the next tutorial section.
Once a map is loaded, more controls and visual data will appear in the GGP window.
