💾 Save (Add Menu)

The Save option allows you to save the current geometry into the Foreground overlay.

You can save in three ways:

• Select Save from the Add Menu.

• Press [F4].

• Click the Save button.

Behaviour

• If the Foreground overlay has user-defined fields:

  • A form specifically designed for that overlay appears for data entry.

• If no form exists:

  • A dialog box appears, giving you the option to run the Form Designer before continuing to data entry.

🔔 Note: For Point overlays, saving is automatic.

• When you add a point, the form immediately opens, prompting you to save the record.

• This is because a Point overlay only allows one point per database record.

❌ Clear (Add Menu)

The Clear option discards the current unsaved graphics record and removes it from the display.

Behaviour

• This option is useful when you wish to cancel the current drawing operation without saving.

• An alternative way to clear the current graphics is to press the [ESC] key.

⚠️ Warning: Once cleared, the unsaved geometry is permanently discarded and cannot be recovered.
