Adding Features - Measuring Facilities in GGP

The measuring facilities in GGP are an integral part of adding overlay graphics, allowing users to quickly determine the area or length of polylines and polygons.

 

🖱 How It Works

• When a polyline or polygon is added to a foreground overlay and Finish is selected from the right-click menu, the Area and/or Length is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

⏱ Temporary vs. Permanent Measurements

• Temporary Measurement: Do not select Save after adding the graphic if you only need a quick, temporary measurement.

• Permanent Measurement: Select Save when the graphic is completed to keep the measurement.

🔄 Automatic Updates

• If your overlay database uses Reserved Field Names, the Area and/or Length are automatically updated in the form and saved in the overlay database file.
