📋 Overview
Rotating symbols allows you to control the orientation of map symbols either during placement (Add Mode) or after they have been added (Edit Mode). This is useful for aligning symbols with map features or directional data to improve clarity and accuracy.
➕ Add Mode
Normally, left-click to place a symbol on the map.
To rotate after placing:
Right-click and check 'Rotate after placing'.
Then left-click to place the symbol.
Move your cursor around the symbol to rotate it.
Left-click again to fix the orientation.
The 'Rotate after placing' option stays checked — no need to re-enable it each time you add a symbol.
📌 Important Notes:
You cannot add point collections while rotating symbols.
Rotated symbols must be added one at a time.
🛠️ Edit Mode
After selecting the symbol to edit, right-click for options:
Rotate After Placing (same behavior as add mode)
Rotate Only (fixes location, lets you rotate by moving the cursor)
📌 Additional Notes:
When geocoding, if you enable 'Rotate After Placing', you can rotate symbols as part of the geocoding process — no separate editing needed.
Rotation works with all five standard symbols.
