Saving Scripts Using "File | Save As" in GGP

Overview

The File | Save As option allows you to save a GGP script file under a custom name and location. This is particularly useful when working with new scripts or when you want to save a version in a different folder.

How to Save with "Save As"

1. Click File | Save As.

2. A dialog will appear allowing you to enter a custom Script File Name.

   Avoid using GGP’s default names (e.g., Newmap01, Newmap02, Newmap03), especially for scripts you intend to keep.

3. Navigate to your desired folder using:

   • Standard Windows browsing tools

   • The GGP Places Bar on the right

   • GGP Folder buttons to quickly access the correct folder level

4. Enter a meaningful script file name.

   • GGP will save the file with a .GSC extension by default.

   • .SCR files are no longer supported due to potential conflicts with screensavers and antivirus tools.

Saving to a Custom Location

You do not need to save your script in the default directory.

• You can browse to any folder or table where you want to store the file.

• Use the GGP Folders panel for quick navigation.

Optional: Add a Script Description

After saving your script, you can add a description to help identify it later:

1. Go to Options | Current Script Settings | General.

2. Enter a description for the script.

This description can be helpful when browsing or opening scripts in the future.
