Saving Script Files in GGP

Overview

The File | Save function in GGP saves your current script file, preserving the following information:

• Current map scale and zoom level

• Active overlays and raster files

• Centre position of the map display

Saving a Script

• If the script file already exists, it will be saved immediately without further prompts.

• If the script is new, or if you choose File | Save As, a dialog will appear prompting you to name the file.

How to Save:

1. Select File | Save or File | Save As.

2. Use standard Windows file navigation to choose a save location.

   • A GGP Places Bar appears on the right for quick folder access.

3. Use the GGP Folders buttons to navigate to the appropriate level.

4. Enter a Script File Name.

   • The file will be saved with a .GSC extension by default.

   • Note: .SCR files are no longer supported as they can conflict with screensaver formats and antivirus software.

Special Case: New Scripts from Gazetteer Search

If you performed a Gazetteer Search using File | New Script, GGP automatically creates a temporary script file named:

• Newmap01

• Newmap02

• Newmap03

These are system-assigned names. To retain your work:

• Choose File | Save As

• Enter a new, meaningful name for your script.

• Click OK to save.

Important Note About Licence Timeout

If your GGP session has been idle for too long and your GGP licence times out, you may see a Save dialog.
In this case:

• The Cancel option will not return you to the system.

• You must complete the save process or close the session.
