How to Set a Custom Screen Display Scale in GGP

You can adjust the screen display to a specified scale in GGP by using the Scale option from the Zoom menu. This allows for precise control over how map data is displayed based on your workstation's screen size.

Prerequisites

Because display sizes can vary between workstations, this setting must be configured on your local machine.

Steps to Set the Display Scale

1. Maximize the GGP window.

2. Navigate to Options > General.

3. Measure the horizontal width of the GGP window in millimeters.

4. Enter this value into the Map Width field.

Once configured, you can use the Zoom Scale option to control the screen display:

• Choose from one of the preset scale options.

• Or, specify your own custom scale using the User Specify field.

Important Notes

• The status bar will update to reflect the scale you have set.

• For performance reasons, extremely small scales may trigger a warning if the map data becomes too large to process (especially for raster maps).

• A user-defined scale limit is enforced at 1:15,000,000. If you exceed this:

  • You will see Zoom limit reached and/or Scroll limit reached dialogs.

  • To resolve this, increase the scale (i.e., zoom in).
