How to Use Zoom Extents Options for Overlays
Overview
The Zoom Extents options help you quickly view the full geographical coverage of overlays or queries on your map by zooming in or out to show all relevant information.
Zoom All Extents
Displays the geographic information for all currently open overlays.
The map will automatically zoom to show all data from every overlay.
Shortcut: Press Ctrl + W to perform Zoom All Extents at any time.
Zoom Foreground Extents
Shows the geographic extent for only the foreground overlay.
The map zooms in or out until all foreground overlay data is visible.
Zoom Query Extents
Focuses the view on the geographic extent of the current query results.
Zooms the map to ensure all query information is displayed.
This option is enabled only after running a spatial or database query (not display queries).
Display queries modify how selected records appear but do not impact Zoom Query Extents.
Clearing queries by selecting Clear Spatial Objects/Queries or Clear All Queries disables Zoom Query Extents.
Clearing queries does not affect display queries.
Troubleshooting
If Zoom Extents does not show expected results, it may be due to deleted graphic objects still being registered internally. To fix this:
Perform a Pack operation on the table.
Or run an Integrity Check on the table.
