Overview
GGP supports multiple network user licences within a single network installation. This allows different departments or user groups to have their own distinct licences, each managing their users separately.
How It Works
Using the Copy Control Maintenance program, you can configure a separate licensing directory for each department or group under the main LOCK directory.
Example directory structure for licensing information:
M:\GGPWIN\PROGRAMS\DEPT1 (2 User licence)
M:\GGPWIN\PROGRAMS\DEPT2 (3 User licence)
The network administrator assigns users to the appropriate licensing subdirectory, controlling access based on departmental or group licensing.
Important Notes
Each licence must be installed into its own directory.
The parent directory for licences is defined during installation.
This setup helps with access rights management:
Users need full access rights to their respective licence directories.
By placing licences outside the main PROGRAMS directory, you can restrict the PROGRAMS directory itself to read-only access for added security.
